Nankerville Reef (Max
Depth: 20m) Access: min boat trip from Nungwi
This reef is also ideal for the less experienced diver. The large
coral rock formation has some very impressive Brain and Plate Coral.
You will see a good variety of reef fish, Lobster, Wrasse and Barracuda. |

Hunga Reef (Max Depth: 16m)
Access: 20min boat trip from Nungwi
A Beautiful dive which is densely populated with fish. An exiting
dive with many different fish schooling around the beautiful coral
bommies, including barracuda, snappers and surgeon fish, as well
as crocodile fish, blue spotted stingrays, scorpion fish and guitar
fish. Large schools of Unicorn and Surgeonfish can be seen and the
occasional Baracuda and Reef Shark. |

Kendwa Reef
(Max Depth: 12m)
Access: 45 min boat trip from Nungwi
A wide variety of hard corals and soft corals. The shallow water
acts like a nursery for thousands of tiny juvenile fish, while
as residents count amongst their number lionfish, pipefish, cuttlefish
and the incredibly well camouflaged seahorse.

Home Reef (Max Depth: 12m)
Access: Shore Entry from Nungwi
Many types of coral reach up almost to the surface here, from the
sandy bottom. The coral has many hiding places in which to spot
the angelfish, butterfly fish, clown anenomies, pipe fish and the
amazing variety of creatures that live in this environment. |

Leven Banks (Max Depth: 40m)
Access: 45 min boat trip from Nungwi
Diving is not always possible here due to strong currents but when
conditions are favorable this is an excellent site for the experienced
diver. Spectacular dive, often in strong currents in the Pemba Channel,
therefore usually great visibility, but only dived on certain tides.
The pinnacle attracts some large pelagic fish from the open ocean,
such as sharks, manta rays, whale sharks and big game fish. |

Chakatuni Reef (Max Depth:
18m) Access: 15 min boat trip from Nungwi
A raised area of hard corals in the open sea. As this site is quite
exposed it is best dived on a slack tide. Schools of pennant bannerfish
parade above the coral, while this haven attracts a proliferation
of marine creatures: Turtles, Stingrays, Octopus and Moray Eels
all call this coral oasis home. |

Ametatu Reef (Max Depth:
14m) Access: 15 min boat trip from Nungwi
A coral outcrop along the fringing reef, gradually sloping to a
sandy bottom. Many hard table, plate and lettuce leaf corals form
a base for a variety of soft corals. It really can be called an
octopus's garden. Other favorites include Mantis shrimps,
the hard hitters of the ocean and the every intriguing sea cucumber.
Schools of fish include snapper, barracuda and some big groupers
too. |

Mbwangawa Reef
(Max Depth: 18m)
Access: 20 min boat trip from Nungwi
A range of hard and soft coral, including extensive plate coral.
The coral provides a beautiful home for blue spotted stingrays,
moray eels, turtles and large schools of bluestriped and five-lined
snapper.

Haji Reef (Max Depth 17m)
Access: 25 min boat trip from Nungwi
A submerged ridge sports a vast array of hard coral formations.
The coral attracts an abundance of marine life, there are numerous
Crocodile fish and as well as the many fish, octopus peer out from
holes in the coral. Look out for the pretty nudibranchs, especially
this seasons 'hilfiger' design! |

Kichafi Reef (Max Depth:
17m) Access: 25 min boat trip from Nungwi
Large healthy formations of plate and lettuce leaf sheet coral.
During the day join the large marbled grouper, oriental sweetlips
and schools of black and bluelinned snappers swimming in and around
the coral. |

Misali Reef (Max Depth:
20m) Access: 1 Hour boat trip from Nungwi
A large oval shaped coral bank, rising from the sandy sea floor.
The sand provides a habitat for guitar sharks, crocodile fish, and
sole, while the coral is home for schools of barracuda, snappers
and morays. A school of common dolphins live in this area, so be
on the lookout above and below the water. |

Leon's Wall (Max Depth 30m)
Access: 1 Hour boat trip from Nungwi
Wall dive with several caves - suitable for experienced divers only.
Lion fish, snappers, big bass and leaf fish. Occasionally big game
fish and dolphins are sighted. In September humpback whales are
sometimes seen at the surface. |

Access: 1½ Hours boat trip from Nungwi
The Wall (Max
Depth: 50m)
For advanced divers only. You will descend down to 30 meters drifting
along a vertical wall. On your silent drift along this wonderful
wall you will be passed by different species of pelagics, schools
of rainbow runner, bluefin trevally, lobster and sometimes common
dolphinfish. Many big predators including reef shark and regular
sightings of big rays and tuna. Seasonal sightings of whale sharks.

Coral Garden (Max Depth:
6m)
The coral garden is home to octopus, garden eels, a kaleidoscope
of different tropical reef fish. Cuttlefish, regular sightings of
turtles and even a couple of resident frogfish. |

Kichwani (Max Depth: 40m)
Big schools of big eyed jacks, five-lined snapper and sweetlips.
Many coral species including mushroom, honeycomb, brain and staghorn.
Coral swarming with anthiases, huge Napoleon wrasse patrol the deep.
Lucky divers can see reef sharks, eagle and manta rays. A pod of
bottlenose dolphins may even accompany you on your dive! |

Wattabomi (Max Depth:
22m)
Schools of small reef fish, regal angelfish, many bluestreak cleaner
wrasse, semicircle angelfish, moorish idol, eels, blue spotted rays,
lionfish, and many more. The coral provides shelter for many green
turtles. For most of the year you will be treated to the beautifully-patterned
striped dolphin, but the bottlenose, spinner and common dolphins
also occur in the clear waters around Mnemba. |

Aquarium (Max Depth: 22m)
There is usually a slight current at this site. Patches of sandy
bottom occur quite close to the reef with surgeonfish's, moorish
idols, parrotfish, groupers, large hawksbill and green turtles along
with white tip reef sharks. Going a bit deeper down the slope there
is a fantastic stretch of foliose coral with lots of large jacks
and groupers swimming around. This area is good for seeing blue
spotted ribbontail rays and occasional black tip reef sharks. |
